Very mixed feelings about this film. Beautiful art and animation that I genuinely enjoyed, but ended up feeling like a trope-y, often cringy, and predictable story. The quirk is laid on far too thick. The comedy lands maybe 2% of the time.

Quite a beautiful film. The continuous shot that follows through almost the entire film is very impressive and suits the story well. The soundtrack impressed me as well, with some particularly haunting backdrops as the camera floats just inches above a wet pit of recently dead men. Recommended.
This is a weird damn movie. I was engaged enough to see it through, but Dick Tracy as a character comes across as a blank slate. The makeup job on the gangsters in this film is over-the-top in a great way. Rather cartoony overall, better than I expected.
