first log of the year. I’ve definitely missed a couple of logs since my last one.
shame captures the agony of self-awareness—the moment when you realize that all your efforts to define yourself, to prove you’re more than your worst thoughts, might just be another way of running from them. It’s the slow, painful reckoning with the fact that no matter how much you try to curate your life, you might still feel fundamentally unworthy of love or connection. And what’s worse is that there’s no clear way forward. The film doesn’t give me catharsis.
