It sounds weird, but I really like how Chinese teen romcoms treat highschoolers far more than western romcoms.
I never doubted these kids were *kids* / highschoolers. The stuff they do is totally in line with what normal highschoolers would do. It's definitely overly idyllic, and I'm definitely just jaded from so many shitty netflix teenage romcoms treating highschoolers as fully sexually mature beings.
Maybe I just long for the youth of "our times" too...
