  There’s a lot about this movie that I don’t understand, but I still found it incredibly interesting and exciting to watch. Insanely bold style and direction, distinctly Villeneuve. Jake Gyllenhaal you are scary as hell.

  Few movies could keep me engaged at 9am for 3 1/2 hours, but damn, The Brutalist did just that. A striking condemnation of American Exceptionalism, the movie breezed through its long runtime to deliver a grand and epic story. I couldn’t be more impressed with how it all came together. That opening scene gave me chills, and only set up how exciting the rest of the movie would be.

  Both a grand critique of Iran’s patriarchal government, and a small story about how a family can unravel, Seed succeeds on both fronts friends by keeping the scope tight. The tension is palpable consistently and gets ratcheted up to 11 in the stellar final act. A very hard movie to watch, but undeniably important and well crafted.
