Grave of the Fireflies 1988
It’s so hard to say if I really like the movie given how much it makes me ache if I watch it from beginning to end. You’re warned it’s sad, but you watch it hoping only to watch the demise of innocent children due to war. Maybe it was a testament to the lives it’s based off of.

Quo Vadis 1951
While Hollywood tee tottered between film noir and million-dollar budgeted period saga films, one of the films at the beginning of this era was Quo Vadis, and it's a marvel that these films kept on coming. This wasn't a great film honestly: archaic and really just terrible acting, some of the outfits were fine and glitzy. The black cast playing Roman slaves had these horrible straight haired wigs on. That's to be expected I guess. Three hours of this.
