For some reason I went into this thinking the guy who made this movie also made Barbarian so I had high hopes.
But it was not the same writer/director, and not a quality movie. I wanted to like it but it just didn’t hit.
Every chance this guy gets to do the right thing, he squanders it. The opportunity goes right over his head. Yet he still holds himself in exceptionally high regard and preaches about “a sanctuary where every one shares equal rights and obligations.” I think that irony is the point of this one?
More class commentary from Ruben Ostlund I guess which seems to be his thing
I still have a lot of questions about this one. Not sure I understand it fully. Still it was absurdist, unique, and visually pleasing. I liked it a lot
