Midori: The Camellia Girl 2016
Shōjo Tsubaki is one of my all-time favorite comics* for its distinctive visions that have haunted me long after I closed its covers. It has a relative in no other narrative work outside of perhaps a vague likeness to Bataille's Story Of The Eye. Absolutely ludicrous but packed with plenty of neat ideas. Unfortunately none of those ideas coalesce together in any meaningful way but if we're going strictly off vibes, this is a top-tier sleaze-slasher for nodding out on an autumn evening.
