While on a technical standpoint it rises above the norm, story-wise its pretty standard. Nothing here elevates the franchise or revolutionizes the genre. The characters rarely leave their apartment room and it would have been cool if they explored more of the building, especially since there was a hidden underground church and a whole floor shrouded in mystery that they never explored but for some reason was brought up in conversation. For a casual watch as a horror fan, it’s fine and probably worth watching solely for Alyssa Sutherland’s performance as one of the creepiest demons on screen.
