  Fists or knives?

  It was never about the riding. I don’t think people are giving this one a fair shot, considering it’s rehashing many themes from last year’s The Iron Claw on a tamer scale and drawing such strong influence from Goodfellas and other period piece hangout films. However, what I say to that is don’t fix what’s not broken, all of it works for me. The Bikeriders, I believe is a masterful adaptation and will 100% crack out to be my pick for the most underrated film of the year.

  New fear unlocked:
  • Laura Dern’s smile

  I don’t normally bite on this degree of abstractness, but something about Inland Empire clicked so well to peak my interest throughout. Never in my life have I wanted to badly immerse myself in such a horrific nightmare. The randomness came with just perfectly enough cohesion and direction to keep my intrigue charged and to encourage my dissection of every piece of imagery.
