Watched with Amanda for her first time - flawless as always.

    Opening is all time.
    Italian scene is all time.

Fassbinder is the goat in the movie IMHO, the basement scene is flawless.

AHHH AHHH AHHH, WAIT FOR THE CREAM! Just a truly exceptional movie. Don’t get me started or I’ll write this for hours.

Wasn’t really super engaged, of all the Oscar noms to watch before it happened I’m slightly upset I chose this one. Wasn’t bad, but another two popes/Vatican movie that didn’t leave me feeling particularly enthralled with the characters. Meh, 3/5. Fiennes was great, Tucci was horrid, Rossellini was fine, nothing I write home about imho.

Watched with Amanda for her first time seeing it, always a classic, many neurons refiring from childhood. Music top quality, so many one liners and memes. Forever young solo napoleon always the saddest scene.

The Right Stuff is an adventure film, a special effects film, a social commentary and a satire... it joins a short list of recent American movies that might be called experimental epics: movies that have an ambitious reach through time and subject matter, that spend freely for locations…
