Fassbinder is the goat in the movie IMHO, the basement scene is flawless.

Wasn’t really super engaged, of all the Oscar noms to watch before it happened I’m slightly upset I chose this one. Wasn’t bad, but another two popes/Vatican movie that didn’t leave me feeling particularly enthralled with the characters. Meh, 3/5. Fiennes was great, Tucci was horrid, Rossellini was fine, nothing I write home about imho.
Watched with Amanda for her first time seeing it, always a classic, many neurons refiring from childhood. Music top quality, so many one liners and memes. Forever young solo napoleon always the saddest scene.
Was reading some criticism of the day, and Eberts review stuck with me, as it usually does: “was a lot going on, and there's a lot going on in the movie, too.
