  A wonderful tonic of optimism. Full of delightful intricacies and heartfelt moments. Frances Ha is fueled by the enormous charm of Greta Gerwig, who was born to play this role.   Excuse my language, friends, but this movie can only be described as a complete and utter clusterfuck. The Dressmaker is simultaneously a romance, a mother-daughter drama, a physical comedy, a whodunnit murder mystery, and a revenge film. 

  The first 20 minutes or so are marked by lazy exposition and a plethora of one-note characters. Around an hour and a half through, the film takes a brazenly sadistic turn that completely shuts down the most interesting part of the movie. It…
