Like KoTM, a boring, generic plot, but without any of the grandeur or awe that made that movie watchable. The monsters might as well be human-sized there is so little sense of weight or scale. Godzilla is also barely even in this movie, spending most of it getting a power-up which didn't end up mattering in the slightest beyond a change in his laser color.
