I’m almost 30 years late to this one. It’s really too bad I waited so long to see it. It was excellent. Interesting characters in direct conflict, which makes for great drama and suspense. Subplots are also interesting. I appreciate that not everything is spelled out to the audience. I left the film feeling like I need to see it another time to get a better grasp on it, and another viewing is something I’m looking forward to.
Mostly hilarious, but the comedy is countered with heartbreaking moments. A nearly perfect balance of humor and melancholy. Very well written and doesn’t fall into the trap of over explaining. Wonderful acting. I can’t find anything noteworthy to criticize. The best movie I’ve seen in a very long time.
Beautiful, unique style, but terrible character designs for Splinter and April. Kids in the audience seemed to enjoy it, but it struck me as a little bland. It takes too long to get to the mutants, and I could have stood a little more mayhem. The writing is so-so. It has an okay plot and premise, but seems like it is just another draft or two away from a solid script.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a mess. Meandering story, poor script, bad acting, jokes that aren’t funny. Despite several painful scenes with characters literally explaining to the audience what was going on, I still wasn’t sure most of the time what was happening or why. Worse, I didn’t care. Disappointing, considering how entertaining the first two were.
