0% chance that I fully got it on first watch but damn this rips. Probably even better on rewatch.
Something I absolutely love about this one is that I finally found a movie that does the surreal theme as well as After Hours. The disjointed narrative structure does this film favors and ultimately the final reveal makes it all worth it. Lynch gives the audience bits and pieces of evidence every second of this movie and it’s so sick to figure out on your own. Big fan. Will rewatch.

A masterclass in framing, pacing, acting…everything in this was just wow. Every emotion was natural, and it was a breath of fresh air in what has felt like a trend of directors who can’t distinguish between telling and showing. Paul Giamatti was a clear standout, but the entire cast deserves recognition in this film.
In fact, it’s so good that I don’t even think you need to wait until Christmas to watch it.
