Charming and moderately funny. Just Long carries the comedy and the film overall, of course, but I also enjoyed the sweet innocence of the younger characters and I felt really bad for Sophie. Justing Long comforting her while robbing her was a highlight. Carl Weathers was a delight.

The vibe shift halfway through is really so impressively executed. The first half of the movie is so fast, so exciting, and then everything comes to a screeching halt as reality sets in. I was in a packed theater for the final showing at the Music Box, and the crowd was into it. The Zone 2007
"La Zona" is a good idea compressed into an abbreviated, unfulfilling film. There are some really interesting power dynamics at play here, but most every subplot is underdeveloped and rushed through.
I'm not complaining about the length, since I had to watch this film for class, but another 30-45 minutes would've allowed "La Zona" to become something much greater than what it is.
