Interesting documentary and sad what happened to him, however I find it impossible to empathise with a man who abandoned his own family given everything that happened to him.

Dog Man 2025
This was a lot of fun. Jokes come at about a million miles an hour in the fist half, and im positive I missed stuff (especially with how distracting the kids who couldnt sit still for 80 minutes were), but once it finds a better rhythm in the second half and takes a bit more time it ends on a real high.

A Close Shave meets Dead Man's Shoes.
Having gone in blind save for a brief synopsis, I didn't really know what to expect - but from the slow, deliberate start this ratchets up quickly then never lets up. This is an absolute masterclass in sustained tension, so much so that it's almost unbearable at times. A hard watch, but it's simple, effective, and scarier than most horrors I've seen. Excellent!

Glad I ignored the critics, this is an absolute hidden gem! Tightly scripted, dripping in atmosphere and rounded out by a superb cast; I got completely sucked into it. I'm not sure there would ever have been a right time for this film to come out without attracting controversy, but its complete subversion of typical genre tropes is what really made it work for me.
