I expected to maybe get a few laughs out of watching a stoner comedy from the 90s but Idle Hands was surprisingly funny if you shut your brain off. Devin Sawa gave a silly but entertaining performance as the loser Anton who has a possessed hand with a mind of its own. Ok, it doesn't make a lot of sense and a lot was left unexplained but what are we truly expecting here.

This film goes from "hoorah, get some! Let's kill some bugs!" to "oh shit, oh fuck oh my god!" in the blink of an eye. Starship Troopers is sort of presented like a wartime propaganda film but is juxtaposed with instances of extreme gore, intense violence and unrelenting brutality. I had a blast watching this film, it had a full cast of interesting and likeable characters. Watching them go through the meat grinder was absolutely thrilling.
The titular Pumpkinhead is a very xenomorph like creature that steals the show here. Expect no less from director Stan Winston of the Stan Winston effects studio that also brought us the Queen Xenomorph in Aliens and the Jurassic Park dinosaurs to name a few.
