Nicole Kidman is so good that she elevates whatever she’s in. Babygirl isn’t deep, it’s not saying anything. It’s basically one of those early 90s erotic thrillers with high production values.
Entertaining as a bit of a throwback to a genre that doesn’t really exist anymore. But it’s not as sexy or campy as the best (and worst) of the genre.
As far as originality goes you cannot fault this film. A beautifully traditionally animated film about a friendship between a dog and a robot in 80s New York told with zero dialogue.
It’s cute but has a deeper meaning about relationships, breakups and moving on after losing someone. It feels like a clever idea that is too stretched by its long run time. A good film that should have been a really great short film.
A road trip through the heart of a decaying empire. Watch it on the biggest screen possible. A film about the horrors of war. It feels different from most other war movies that take you through the eyes of one side of the conflict. This is not about heroes or villains but how war dehumanises us and brings out the worst in people.
