  One of the best and most unsung films of the 70’s, Sorcerer is a masterclass in sustaining tension throughout a film using as little dialogue as possible.

  Easily one of my favorite films ever; it never fails to make me hold my breath.

  Southland Tales is our current world viewed through the lens of a time-traveling voyeur from 2006, and that is terrifying.

  “Look at this…look at what they make you give.”

  Still my favorite of the series, and that is largely due to how central Damon and Potente’s relationship is to the movie. I watched the “No Treadstone” fan edit this time around, and it’s wild how well it works even without any cutaways to Chris Cooper & the gang.

  It can’t be understated how big a deal Bourne was when it hit theaters, and it still holds up just as well today.

  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more intensely closeted gay film in my life.

  Everybody in this film is a god damned legend, delivering the most unhinged lines with such commitment and confidence that it — unbelievably — works.

  And I’m not kidding when I say “unhinged”. This script is a gold mine of brilliant neo-noir banter and out-of-left-field insanity in equal measure.
