  I've watched this film three times now. 

  The first time I saw this, in 2020, I was single - watching Jesse and Celine in awe, desperately hoping to one day experience their feelings and the intensity of them. The film didn't make me feel lonely, it made me excited and crave love in a way a film had never done to me before.

  Past Lives 2023

  "If you leave something behind, you gain something too."

  A tender, patient, genuine portrayal of what could have been and what is. I'm really having trouble trying to articulate how this makes me feel. 
  It's absolutely devastating. Yet kind of optimistic? 

  So much happens in between the words - the subtext fills the empty space; it's screaming at you - you can't not feel it.
  And then some of the dialogue comes in and hits like a fucking freight train. So unbelievably poignant and profound. 
  Hit even harder on a rewatch, gonna be thinking about this one for a while.
