    Absolutely outstanding. Practical filmmaking at it's complete and utter zenith .

    The film is often described with an air of 'before-The-Lord-of-the-Rings-Jackson-made-these-other-twee-films' about it, but nothing could be further from the truth.     I always have a soft spot for portmanteu films.. but frankly speaking that may be due to a rather fried and highly impatient brain. Some of the stories in this I preferred vastly to others, particularly 'Poetic Justice' as I don't think I've seen Peter Cushing in a more heartbreaking role before (it's okay, though, he got his comeuppance in the end...wholeheartedly).
