Barbie 2023
I was extremely excited to watch this and it somehow fell flat. They'd pick up a thread (the modern perspective on Barbie, fleeting girlhood, womanhood and modernity, Barbie's relevance within the modern world, etc.) and then lose it. A scene under one of these genres would tug at my heartstrings, make me bawl and then leave me starving for more. Overall, it was good; not great or fantastic and not bad or awful, and I'm glad that I watched it.
