Now this technically isn't a western but Johnny cash is technically a cowboy. Jokes aside, this is a great documentary learning about Johnny cash history and his beliefs. His life is the story of a man suffering , who found a way out by lessening the suffering of others. A man who chooses love or hate. A guy who used his power to help the underdog, who humanized those cast out by society but also a man covered in darkness. A man with many faults but also believed in redemption . I highly reccomend this.
I can see why this film is held with such high regard, Robert Redford and Paul Newman make quite the dynamic. A tale of men unwilling to give up the life of the outlaw in a world that doesn't want them anymore.
Well it has been awhile hasn't it ? How can I start a review on this film without saying waahawwahh. Sergio is the master of spaghetti westerns for a reason. The movie drags a bit in the middle but makes up for it with a great cast, fun action and great story telling.
The kid was not the movie I was expecting but fell in love with it. The pacing wasn't as slow as most westerns which I enjoyed, the movie shines with its writing and characters. Billy the kid and Pat Garret stole the show, both are very well written. Watching Rio progress as a character was also well done. From start the finish he is a totally different character and that progression felt natural. I highly recommend this film
