Kind of a big mess? I think mine and everyone’s expectations were unrealistically high after Bong dropped the masterpiece that was Parasite, but this doesn’t even feel like the same writer-director at the helm. It’s about as subtle in it’s messages and themes as a sledgehammer and the pacing is all over the damn place, dragging to the point where I kind of just wanted it to be over. Robert is fine, but Steven Yeun really steals the handful of scenes he’s in. At least it’s pretty to look at.

Second time I’ve done a run through the series with this film as ending and even though I still barely have a clue about what the fuck is going on, it’s an undeniable fact that there’s such a singular artistic vision laid bare that pushes the medium to places it hasn’t been to again. Get lured in by brutal and impeccably animated genre defining action and get left with philosophical questions and maybe learning a thing or two about yourself. Movies can be truly insane if they want to.

I think for me this movie is victim of over hype, with everyone and their mothers saying it's one of…

Batman, for various personal reasons, means so much to me and after the Nolan trilogy wrapped I've been eagerly looking forward to whatever was next in store for one of my favorite fictional characters ever.

I've been following the development and production of this new iteration since the beginning when Ben Affleck was still in the director's chair. After he dropped out and Matt Reeves, whom I knew from Cloverfield and the most recent (amazing) Planet of The Apes films…
