The Color Purple 1985
One of only a couple Spielberg films I haven’t seen. Whoopi is amazing. Adapting a novel is always tough, and Spielberg struggles at various points. Just a totally original thought, but maybe Steven wasn’t the best choice of a director for The Color Purple.
When people complain about the overuse of scores in Spielberg films this has got to be the number one offender.
Now I have 1941 left to watch.

White Fire 1984
Baffling choices are made by the filmmakers in every frame. Whoever dubbed the Italian villain lady committed a crime against the Italian people. The incest subplot made me think, “what the fuck am I watching right now”, but then I remembered the director is a Frenchman so this is normal. There is an unexpected Hitchcock/Lynch female double that utterly confused me and then on top of that they added a Face/off thing in there. In conclusion, White Fire is a movie and it kept me on my toes and I loved it.
