  I love documentaries that start out seeming to be about one thing but by the end of the film have become about something entirely different. This easily could’ve gone in the direction of Nightcrawler, and at some level it did. But then...it didn’t. And perhaps these underlying stories were unavoidable what with the documented verbal abuse and Zoey’s transition. Regardless, it did feel like it was all done in a complex way that still managed to maintain a distance from (and respect for) each subject.
