The idea that this premise—a cyclical practice of revenge played out without consideration of the collateral damage—could resolve through a strange, unexpected connection between two characters whose bond exists materially, refines Redux Redux as a film about horror and about the different ways we try to make peace with it, the ways we struggle to grieve and know and process by investing in new ways of living our lives. All we can do is keep living, but this is a film about what I might call the trickiness of imposing any order over what will never make sense.

Venom: The Last Dance 2024
There’s something so deeply horrifying about the symbiosis in these movies, and it honestly keeps me going — making gory, profane, and eccentric horror-comedies out of comic-book characters is a worthier project than others happening under the Marvel superhero tent right now, and there’s a pleasantly Lilo & Stitch vibe to Venom: The Last Dance that successfully counteracts the franchise creep most of the time, despite the stabbings and decapitations. It somehow ends up sweet.

Strange Darling 2023
Oh my god, you shot entirely on 35mm film? Should we tell everyone? Should we throw a party? Should we invite Quentin Tarantino?
