Incredibly shot—highly stylized, film noir-esque. Made me think of Hitchcock and Lynch. The score was also really great. For that, it's captivating.
HOWEVER, the movie is a complete non-sequitur. So many loose ties and ends. Possibly a metaphor for nihilism? The only analysis that can be attributed to the film, because everything was essentially pointless. Maybe the degradation of pop culture? Who knows.

An extraordinary film about love through the act of observation. A genius narrative that incorporates Greek myth and the female gaze, which is done absolutely PERFECTLY. The camerawork captures Heloise in a way where the camera is in love with her, in contrast to the sexual objectification that comes with typical male-directed wlw films.
Love is portrayed so genuinely that you can feel its intensity. A queer romance film sans typical gay tropes. Besides the fact that it's a lesbian period piece, and our protagonists do not end up together.
Subversive spirit. The film itself isn’t surrealistically stylized—it’s quite restraint, which is ironic given its subject matter. However, the subtlety of the film is what makes it so striking.
Also, Pierre Clémenti is a dreamboat.
