  “I’ve always been considered an asshole for as long as I can remember. It’s just kind of my style.”

  Finally! By far my favorite of the Wes Anderson films I’ve seen. Redtail hawk was the icing on the cake. 

  I was close to giving up on Wes Anderson’s films, but I’m glad I gave this a chance. Although, I seem to notice an evolution in his films, and it might be that I prefer his earlier work. Maybe he’s suffering…

  I have no Irish heritage at all, so I’ll suffer no accusations of the paddywhackery white dudes are often rightly pilloried for (see the recent A+ Paul Mescal SNL skit). However, I am genuinely mesmerized by Irish history. 

  I’m subtracting at least one whole star for Julia Roberts’ presence here. She speaks so faintly and timidly throughout the whole film, clearly because she knows her Irish accent is abysmal. She’s great in general but so wrongly cast here. In fact,…
