Emilia Pérez 2024
This misfires in every conceivable way that a movie can, which is kind of fascinating.

Now this is how you tackle a weighty subject matter without slipping into trauma porn. Tense, poignant, and well-crafted.

I'm forever astounded at what indie horror darlings Benson and Moorhead are able to accomplish on their micro-budgets. Their films are true testaments to what you can do with a good idea, centered acting, and a good eye for camerawork, and The Endless is further proof of that. More disquieting supernatural drama that in-your-face terror, the film shines most in its quiet character moments, but it never forgets to unnerve you either. Aspiring horror filmmakers should take note.
