    Sean Baker has quickly become one of my favorite writer/directors, he just knows how to make a character feel relatable, likeable, and most importantly real. He does this in such a natural way so it doesn't feel cheap or manipulative. He gives his characters agency, they are never perfect, they make mistakes, and they always seem to bear some responsibility for the bad things that happen to them.
