The Wedding Banquet made me cry 4x not only because of its reflections on lgbtqia+ love, chosen family, and filial expectations, but also due to its specificity around illustrating Korean culture and traditions in a queer manner.

I also absolutely was stunned to see two female power houses together in one room (Joan Chen and Youn Yuh-jung), and their acting was ultimately the ones that led to my waterworks.

Oh I definitely fuck with this. It’s shocking how genuinely terrifying the imagery of this film is, how earnestly romantic, and how weird it’s willing to get all in one. You’d think it would be overkill so to speak but this film strikes an incredible tonal balance that keeps you alternating between laughing, wincing and going ‘awww’. A resounding hell yeah all around.

has to be the most The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford-coded movie since The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (which was famously coded as such). kinda knocked the wind out of me.

Dylan O’Brien has always been a good actor, Twinless is him showing the world he has so much more up his sleeve.

It is also excellent representation for the diehard fans of The Sims, which has been severely lacking in media for awhile now.

This movie really goes for it and doesn’t hold back! Incredibly relatable message - especially as I stack up more years! Chasing beauty and youth is ruinous! We are pushed to do so by society and ourselves.. to disastrous ends! The bravery by these gals to go all in with the body horror and nudity was refreshing to me. This is our lane .. and the gals embraced it and owned it. So funny too and perfectly over the top! I think this film created a new genre… What shall we call it?

I hate Wallace. I find him despicable. It is not simply that he is ugly—which he is—it is his seemingly bottomless stupidity that so offends. His infinite capacity for being a mark is infuriating; and one cannot even delight in his suffering because he is too dumb to comprehend the peril he continuously places himself in. I used to feel sympathy for Gromit, but he is an enabler, and therefore a fool undeserving of pity himself, and one is ultimately left in the position of siding with the fierce, cunty penguin. Let him have his diamonds.
