  Not top-tier Hammer, there are too many loose ends that don’t connect and the mid film turn is a bit confusing, but still pretty entertaining. Joan Fontaine is better than the material deserves. The cat in the bag was legit disturbing. The film could have used more moments like that.

  Avoided seeing this for years and now really regretting that decision. Shockingly cute and endearing. Will become highly quoted in our house for years to come.

  All the satanic shit is fun but Dracula is an afterthought in his own movie. The ending is anticlimactic for a single film but an outright embarrassment as the capper for the Hammer Dracula series. The king of vampires deserved a better send off. Justice for Drac.

  The Horror of Frankenstein 1970

  ★★★★ Rewatched 09 Apr 2024

  The black sheep of the Hammer Frankenstein series for no discernible reason. It's admittedly a bit light on monster action but Ralph Bates gives one of the best portrayals of a sociopath ever and the script's pitch black humour is entertaining. Veronica Carlson remains my favorite Hammer lady.
