i don’t think i’m smart enough nor do i have a good enough attention span to say i completely understand this movie. i got the general idea but to say i can explain even a minority of this 3 hour movie would be a lie. i’d also be lying if i told you i didn’t spend the first 30 mins of the movie googling why there’s a theatre filmed bootleg of a movie on hbo max.

i never understood where the sims 4 gets their “super trendy” build/buy inspiration until i saw skye’s room.
anyways, anytime i watch a movie where someone’s on their phone the whole time.. i want to be on my phone the whole time. i think i just wasn’t in the mood for this movie.. it had really cool visuals.. yay

well i’m leaving the theatre after saying “that’s it?” when the credit title card dropped.
the beginning.. middle.. and almost all the way up to the end was really, painfully slow. it finally started ramping up with an insanely sick shot of the mother covered in blood in her nun outfit.. to abruptly end.
maybe i’ve seen too much horror media but it felt like a mash-up of stories i’ve heard before. i literally wore my silent hill 3 shirt…

at first i was frustrated by elizabeth sparkle’s casting of demi moore, because she’s already so beautiful.. why would she want to take the substance..
but thinking about that made it hurt 10 times more.
this movie was so deeply upsetting & compelling.. i wish i could send this to my mom who’s turning 50 this year because she would take the substance without a second thought but she’d never watch it.
