    The Last Showgirl

    ★★★★

A seasoned showgirl must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.

Pamela Anderson is perfectly cast and gives a wonderful and powerful performance of a woman who tries to come to terms with age and the changing times of her life long profession. The choices and sacrifices she made along the way return looking for answers by the way of her estranged daughter. She remembers a time gone by full of glitz and glamour that now seems passé and out dated.

Capt. Ahab (Gregory Peck) has a vendetta against Moby Dick, the great white whale responsible for taking his leg. He sets out on a treacherous sea voyage aboard The Pequod, along with a crew including Starbuck (Leo Genn), Father Mapple (James Robertson Justice) and Ishmael (Richard Basehart), to hunt down the elusive beast. With reckless abandon, Ahab leads the crew on his obsessive and suicidal quest, anxious for a final showdown with the legendary white whale.

    One of my all-time…

The Squid and the Whale is a 2005 American independent comedy-drama film written and directed by Noah Baumbach and produced by Wes Anderson. It tells the semi-autobiographical story of two boys in Brooklyn dealing with their parents' divorce in 1986.

I HATED this movie! The film had promise in the beginning with an interesting premise and great actors but they play such unlikeable characters. The story gets more and more depressing as it goes on. By the end of the film I felt little sympathy for anyone because of their asshole loathsome qualities and felt divorce was probably the best thing for these people.

Clint Ramsey must quit his job at Martin Bormann's gas station and flee after his wife is killed by psychopathic cop Harry Sledge, who tries to pin the murder on him.

This film is funny and fun to watch! It goes places that are completely unexpected. Russ Meyer shows he can tell a compelling story within the sexploitation genre he is famous for. The fight scene between Angel and Sledge is brutal and memorable. This is a sold film worth seeing.
