Black Bag has the juice. It’s a film with sharp dialogue and a compelling story that keeps you guessing until the very end.
Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett are both phenomenal, bringing plenty of intrigue to their roles. This reminded me a lot of his role in The Killer, except George was actually good at his job. The Gorge had all the right ingredients to be something special. An intriguing premise, a strong cast, and Scott Derrickson at the helm. Given how much I enjoyed his darker films like Sinister and The Black Phone, and of course Doctor Strange, I went into this with high hopes.

The Monkey 2025
The Monkey is dark, hilarious, and a blast from start to finish. Oz Perkins crushes it once again, following up Longlegs with another twisted gem. Theo James and Tatiana Maslany are both a riot, fully leaning into the film’s absurdity while still delivering memorable performances. It balances its dark humor with some disturbingly inventive deaths, making for an entertaining and unique horror/comedy experience.
