Worth watching solely for the beautifully executed practical effects. I've been pretty desensitized to grotesque things but damn. Acting and script is fantastic as well. It's a refreshingly slow burn compared to other 80's horror movies which might explain why it received such poor reception when it came out. Genuinely suspenseful and I enjoyed every minute of it.
