This was playing on the screen at the State House while Glambat and Phat Astronaut played. I know that you're thinking "but this movie was set in Spain in the 1940s, surely it has no connection to connecticut", but there's where's you're wrong pal. It was directed by Guillermo Del Torrington. Anyways, Chad Browne-Springer played a looped descending bass line over a pivotal part of this plot, and I think it works better than what is originally in the score for the movie.

So yes, five stars, this is now a Connecticut Classic (tm).

"The Waterbury Open" is the first major golfing event Sandler goes to in this movie. It's meant to be a joke at Waterbury's expense because you see, it's kinda a shitty event. How DARE you fat cat Hollywood types come in and try to score points against THE BRASS CITY, an underdog Connecticut city that was devastated by a string of industry closures in the 60s - 80s, stranding hundreds (thousands?) of immigrant families that moved to the nutmeg state…

shout out to Michael Terry from the band Lucretia who told me that this movie was filmed in Connecticut. he's right! it was filmed in Kent and New Preston. of course, officially, Camp Crystal Lake is in New Jersey, so this is CT pretending to be NJ. i know right? that makes me feel sick to my stomach. tricking honest americans into thinking NJ could look like that.

anyways this movies kinda rules (fun kills) and is a little overlooked…

This movie was shot entirely in Willimantic. 5 STARS.

Also someone sucks on a bloody tampon in the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Biggest complaint about this movie is that for a movie that takes place entirely in a radio station in Connecticut, there's not one CT indie artist. C'mon. Bone Church or Hellrazor or Institution or Lucretia or En Masse or Intercourse or Let's Get Invisible would be awesome here.

Did I already mention the thing about Willimantic
