i think that, perhaps, i would have felt differently about this film if the lecture that preceded it was about something other than comedy: what it means, why it makes us laugh, and the different theories people have used to categorize/explain it.
that’s to say, i went into this expecting to laugh. and while there definitely were humorous moments, it wasn’t the “i’m audibly laughing out loud” kind of humor. it was the “i blew a small amount of air out of my nose” kind of humor.
and all of those moments came at the very end of this very very long film.
