in sartorially-minded circles, this film is spoken of in hushed, reverent tones, as if “armani” is equivalent to “amen.” now that i’ve finally seen it… i get it. this is, basically, a film about how Greed necessitates The Mask, so the way in which julian’s outfits correspond to his degree of spiritual erosion at different points in the narrative… i mean… that IS the narrative. …
