such a devastating start to my best picture run but i enjoyed myself nonetheless — this movie is both beautiful and acutely harrowing, navigates familial dynamics and the space between it in such a nurtured way that you feel like you’re moving through each day, month and year alongside these characters with the same looming disquiet.
fernanda torres sits rightfully so amongst the other best actress nominees and this SHOULD win best international film.

this was a pretty fun one, an exhilarating ‘chase the clock’ dramedy that highlights the rejective disposition of sex work. i wanted to strangle ivan a handful of times, perhaps a nod to the very careful way mark eydelshteyn plays the immature heir. the real stand-out to me however was mikey madison — she practically transforms on screen, bringing such a seductive arrogance to the role of annie without missing a single beat.
