Excellent Burns documentary, albeit being 40 years old. Pacing moves briskly, and the first section on French historical origins an its creator are interesting. The last section introduces a range of notable figures who discuss its meaning—especially regarding what Burns call “The Promise” for immigrants and oppressed peoples seeking a better life here. Essential viewing to understand NYC and the USA.

Looks like a $100M production by Apple with gorgeous sets, compelling effects, plus a nice touch, merging newsreels.

It’s interesting story concept merges the advertising world with early-NASA space science—but hard to tell if it’s trying to be conspiratorial/edgy or patriotic/romantic.

Exceptional planetary and interior spaceship visuals blend with one of the most effectively employed soundtracks to create one of my faves. Characters are all from the backstories—but no other show or series can connect with the main Episodes as well as this.

    - The Jin and Gaylen Erso father/daughter team are inspiring as they are devious and shed light on comments about how the Rebels received the plans as mentioned in the 1978 original Ep.1

    - Deep Jedi lore…
