    A pure delight of cinematic insanity that dials entertainment up to 11.

    EVERYBODY SHOULD SEE THIS I AM SO SERIOUS. SUPPORT THIS LEVEL OF EFFORT AND ORIGINALITY IN YOUR POP CULTURE!!

    It’s one of those movies that feels like it was made with the utmost care. It’s quick, it’s funny, it knows when to be emotional, it’s frequently uproariously funny (and clever) and demonstrates the singular power of animated comedic storytelling to be an incredible time.

    Points for having Pattinson star in another delightfully weird picture.

    Strange though, because this one didn’t quite hit for me. Like, it’s good, but maybe I was expecting some fantastic scifi satire, and instead I just got a movie that I found to be decent. Some great comedy parts, though.

    I feel like RPats and Naomi Ackie are the only performances in this movie I actually liked.
    Ruffalo and Collette are both so garishly odious that I found their performances…

    Enough fun in here to be worth the watch once, if only for the bombastic ridiculousness of it.

    The first half is all neon, dread, and style. Not to mention a great opening scene. If the movie went on being this good, I’d buy it as a modern cult classic.

    Some reviews mention the economy of storytelling as a selling point. Fair. But not my style. The storytelling “economy” takes out anything that isn’t action or a one liner past…

    This is a hard review to write.

    Twenty years ago, my sister got sick. That night, I was at the premiere of The Polar Express.

    My dad and I watched the very first public showing of this movie, at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago. We were lucky to have a friend who gave us tickets they won in a charity auction.
