Some elements really worked for me, but others didn’t have much of an impact. Daniel Day Lewis is fantastic as usual, especially in a role that I’ve never seen him in before as an action blockbuster star. Wes Studi is also great, as he’s given a role that showcases how effective he can be with only his eyes and expressions.

The actual plot is fairly basic and typical, and it never really clicked for me. This may be the best looking Michael Mann movie though, especially in the cliffs and forests of the final hour.

Most unsettling thing I’ve seen in theaters since The Zone of Interest. I wish it went a bit more into the context of the area of the villages being torn apart, I had no real sense of location or scale for them. The documentary excels at showing the devastation of the Palestinian people, and the cruelty of their oppressors. The film captures some heartbreaking moments, especially regarding the school. An uncomfortable watch, but a necessary one.

I can’t believe a legitimate network/streamer gave Fielder and Safdie the money to create this show. So many ideas and critiques of modernity, and one of the wildest final episodes I’ve ever seen. It’s borderline impossible to recommend unless you are a die hard fan of Fielder’s work, a wholly unique series that I’m glad exists.
