    The dichotomy between our actual desires and the perception of our desires is one that can render us torn. Only upon self discovery can we be mended. 

    Anora’s first act is intoxicating. Whilst there’s better depictions of debauchery, the chemistry of the cast coupled by the witty though seamless humour makes the film incredibly enjoyable, whilst moving the plot forwards. 

    Madison and Eydelshteyn are electrifying.

    An aesthetic that enhances the comedy coupled with insane chemistry makes this such a delight. Some gags are genius, others don’t stick the landing as much. 

    Super enjoyable, but definitely not comedic peak.

    Ignorance is in indeed bliss, for knowledge of the truth is an unsettling one; one that makes virtue and direction harder to seek. 

    In typical A24 fashion, Heretic had me absolutely hooked from its very beginning, up until the third act. From there, I couldn’t bear my suspension of disbelief, which somewhat broke my immersion. Albeit the third act offers the most thematic ambiguity and rewatch-ability.
