  I watched this movie on VHS many many times as a kid, and so it took me a long time to figure out that Jim Carrey’s character was actually the bad guy. Well, except for the prostitute situation: that I definitely understood as a pathetic “typical virgin redditor” move even though that wasn’t a personality shorthand back then…

  But this movie is so, so funny—every line of it. I always resented that Simpsons joke about the script.

  “Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given”

  I love this story, about these figures who have won the “most interesting life” lottery. Every piece of their stories interdependent upon the person next to them. But it’s definitely a lottery you wouldn’t want to win IRL.

  What really puts it over the top is impeccable photography. Especially of the Taz t-shirts. Those wild animals! I’m in love with this film.
