    The Brutalist

    ★★★½

    I’ll be short and brute:
Astonishing work yet it’s trying too hard to be a masterpiece.

However, I want Blumberg’s score on vinyl this instance.

    Queer

    ★★★½

Unexpected things I’d like about it: Manville’s performance, the sloth and telepathy (but Cronenberg’s Naked Lunch actually had a better telepathic scene (remember Ian Holm starting a telepathic conversation with Peter Weller (who played William S. Burroughs? (Weller’s Burroughs is different from Craig’s Lee but Guadagnino’s Queer is clearly Cronenbergian (it has a slight touch of Apichatpong Weerasethakul as well (oh, and a sip of Coppola (and probably more cinematic hallucinations I’m not mentioning right now)))))).

    Queer Lunch.

    Cemetery of Queer.

Uncle Queer Who Can Recall His Past Lives.

    Apocalypse Queer.

    Queer Now.

Steve Jobs says: 'I'm poorly made.'
I say: 'The movie is not.'

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

    ★★★★★

This film is absolutely stunning, from the beginning till the end!
Michael Keaton shows you what he is capable of. It's a joy to see him in the role of a lifetime.
Emotionally, technically; everything is perfectly balanced.
You can see the passion of the filmmakers throughout the whole film.
This film is about dedication, about artistic struggle, about art itself.
A truly inspiring modern piece of cinematic work.
