After encountering a witch, a young philosophy student is forced to preside over her wake for three nights with only his faith to protect him.

Wij is a story by Nikolai Wassiljewitsch Gogol, a famous Russian author of Ukrainian origin, that I enjoyed immensely when I read it in "Von denen Vampiren oder Menchensaugern" a collection of stories about anything vampiric. An English botanist studying rare herbs in a remote Buddhist temple within the Himalayas joins an expedition to search for the legendary yeti. Still, the intentions of his new companions are far less noble than his own.

One of my brother's favorite Hammer movies is "The Abominable Snowman," and I completely understand why.
Not only is it a gorgeous artistic representation of those eternal snowy mountains and a unique, though somewhat fictionalized culture, but it also cleverly plays with your…
