    DAMN.

watching this the day after watching the severance finale was an accidentally brutal adventure in emotional distress but, here we are. got me crying on my couch two nights in a row…

i can’t believe i waited this long to finally watch this though, wow. i have so many thoughts and feelings about this damn movie i can’t even articulate. what a loss to spend that much time with someone only to find out that she’s a stranger 😭

as soon as i got home from the theater i was googling mark ruffalo’s teeth just to make sure those veneers were just for the movie and not real … if veneers have no more haters i’m dead

also, the baby 🥺🥺🥺 oh my god the BABY! literally had me losing it in my seat. while this movie is not my usual jam, i can still appreciate it does so many things well.

tell me why every time we watch a movie with an academic off their rocker katy turns to me and says “you.” thank you willem dafoe, apparently… i am you, and i guess i accept it.

but this was shockingly good. i think the best horror i’ve seen in a few years. lily-rose depp ate as a “hysterical” woman in ways one can only wish to emulate. she’s just too much of an empath for her time…

regardless, recommend this with my whole chest. the perfect amount of freak. no notes.

    i see my future and it’s bright…

jk, but, unfortunately, i think the indie film guys who love this movie are onto something. for the wrong reasons, but they certainly are onto something.

the color grading (if that’s the right term) in this was also great. love a movie that does an occasional silly little thing that blends into the overall film well.
