The Boy and the Heron 2023
Back in the old days you could deal with trauma by trying to kill a wild animal with a stick, but you can't do that anymore. Because of woke.
I all seriousness, Miyazaki manages to blend myth and metaphor around a strikingly human story.
More of a thinker than most other Ghibli's flicks, and somewhat meandering because of it. But the film is better for it's extra depth to leave you mulling over its meaning long after the credits role.
